A characteristic bird of mixed pasture and shrubland (hawthorn) in the winter months is the rufous collared thrush. They form large flocks of up to 50 individuals feeding both on winter berries and on the ground. By mid March the flocks break up as the birds return to the forest to breed. Posted by Hello
